Welcome to the Village of Prairie Grove's Web Site. We are a small community in Northeastern Illinois located about 50 miles northwest of Chicago, IL and 40 miles East of Rockford IL.

The lead picture below, is our Village Hall located within the Village. The village has experienced significant growth in recent years and is poised for substantial growth beginning in the near future. It prides itself of the diverse homes but more importantly a caring and involved community. The remainder of the photographs show the beautiful scenery of our lovely community. Special News

  • The Economic Development Commission is looking for two new Commissioners.  Please submit your  letter of interest to Chairman Keith McConnell addressed to the Village Hall.  The purpose of this Commission is to structure sound economic development programs in the Prairie Grove area. 
  • For the next H1N1 Vaccination Clinic:

    Free H1N1 Vaccines! It’s not too late to get vaccinated for H1N1 flu! The McHenry County Department of Health is offering FREE H1N1 vaccinations for anyone 6 months of age or older. Please visit one of our walk in clinics in Woodstock (2200 N. Seminary Ave, Annex A) or Crystal Lake (100 N. Virginia St). These clinics will run from January 21st  through February 11th , Monday-Friday 8:30am-12pm and 12:30pm- 4:00pm.
