Welcome to the Village of Prairie Grove's Web Site. We are a small community in Northeastern Illinois located about 50 miles northwest of Chicago, IL and 40 miles East of Rockford IL.

The lead picture below, is our Village Hall located within the Village. The village has experienced significant growth in recent years and is poised for substantial growth beginning in the near future. It prides itself of the diverse homes but more importantly a caring and involved community. The remainder of the photographs show the beautiful scenery of our lovely community.   • Prairie Grove Police Department joins Click It or Ticket Campaign to help save lives.  The 2013 Click It or Ticket Campaign kicks off May 10th in Illinois.  The purpose of the campaign is to help save lives by cracking down on those who do not buckle up through the Memorial Day holiday weekend.  Please click here to see the full news release.
  • News Release: Illinois Tollway announces traffic shift on I-90 to prepare for start of rebuilding and widening work.  Traffic shifts between I-39 in Rockford and the Elgin Toll Plaza. Click here for a copy!
  • The Village of Prairie Grove Parks & Recreation Committee has launched it's "Buy a Brick Program". The Parks Committee will be raising money to help pay for the Village's first park. Bricks will be placed throughout the Park. Reserve your engraved permanent brick today by submitting the Buy a Brick Program form.   • The Village of Prairie Grove's 2013 Zoning Map is now available for your review.  Click here for a copy!   This map has been adopted at the March 19, 2013 Village Board Meeting.
  • The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be studying property in Prairie Grove to investigate areas to protect rare local wildlife as well as to create fishing, hunting and wildlife areas.  This study know as Hackmatack is a Bi State initiative covering areas in Southern Wisconsin & Northern Illinois.  To learn more about this study and how you can participate please click here.

Meeting & Notices

  • Village Board Meetings are held at the Village Hall on the third Tuesday of every month. The meetings start at 7:00 P.M.
