Ron Lyons, Director of Public Safety, welcomes you to the Prairie Grove Police Department web page.  Director Lyons is supported by ten sworn police officers (including two Detectives and a Juvenile Officer) and a sworn Records Clerk.  Together this team's responsibility is to serve and protect the Village of Prairie Grove!

Some of the programs available to residents are listed below.  Please check back periodically as we will continue to update our page.

[New!]FREE GUNLOCKS available at the Police Department - PROJECT CHILD SAFE (putting a lock on safety in your home).

The Prairie Grove Police Department offers a vacation house watch program and Notary Public Services. The vacation watch request must be made in person at the station. The form is in Adobe Acrobat format. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat, click on the image to obtain your free software.

Then, click here to download the Vacation Request Form, print it and bring it to the Police Station in person and we will watch your home while you are away.

Please note that we do not dispatch from our office. If you are in need of an officer and it is an emergency, dial 911, otherwise contact McHenry County Dispatch at 815-338-2144.
