Prairie Grove wins 2013 Ford Interceptor:
The Prairie Grove Police Department takes 1st place in the 2011-2012 Illinois Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Challenge for a part-time agency and is the grand prize winner of a 2013 Ford Interceptor Utility Vehicle valued at $46,000. It comes fully equipped with an emergency lighting system, siren, in-car video system, and a police laptop and docking station.
The Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge recognizes the traffic safety efforts of law enforcement agencies and rewards those agencies that are determined to have the best overall programs. The Traffic Safety Challenge, sponsored in part by the Illinois Department of Transportation - Division of Traffic Safety, is coordinated by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and is open to all Illinois law enforcement agencies. Each agency has an opportunity to submit a detailed application. Those applications are then judged by a team of nationally recognized traffic safety experts and law enforcement professionals on the basis of department policies, training, public information and education, enforcement activity, and effectiveness in the areas of occupant protection/safety belt use, impaired driving, and speed control. The Prairie Grove Police Department has been actively participating in the Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge since 2008. Over that time, the Department has been recognized 4 times for our traffic safety programs.
If the department staff or I can be of any assistance please feel free to call or e-mail.
