Adopt A Road Program

Firewood/Woodchips

This new service is available to Prairie Grove residents on a first come/first serve basis. Residents are welcome to pick up firewood & woodchips at our Public Works Facility located at 4507 Gracy Road, Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM. Please note that you must be done loading by 3:30PM so the facility can be secured.

Burning Restrictions

The Village follows the McHenry County Burning Restrictions!!!
Handouts are available at the Village Hall!!!

NO BURNING OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS IS ALLOWED AT ANY TIME!!!

The open burning of landscape waste, which is less than 500 feet from a neighboring dwelling is allowed, but subject to following conditions:
- Only on weekend days during the months of October, November, April and May.
  Between dawn and dusk.
- Must be at least 50 feet from any non-habitable structure, 100 feet from any habitable structure and constantly attended until the fire is extinguished. Provisions must also be made to prevent the fire from spreading.
