The Village has numerous committees and boards where the real work of government occurs. The Board of Trustees, Planning & Zoning Commission and Architectural Review Committee present, vote upon and if passed enact legislation. Important ordinances will be posted to the Fees and Ordinances page.

For major issues affecting the entire village, the Board of Trustees will vote upon and if passed place the issue on a ballot for the citizens of the village to vote upon. An issue recently enacted by the Village was to be a Home Rule Community. This was passed on March 16, 2003.
