We are a small community in Northeastern Illinois located about 50 miles northwest of Chicago, IL and 40 miles East of Rockford IL.

The village has experienced significant growth in recent years and is poised for substantial growth beginning in the near future. It prides itself of the diverse homes, but more importantly a caring and involved community.

Two Open Prairie Grove Trustee Seats Available

Two Open Prairie Grove Trustee Seats Available

With conclusion of the April 2, 2019 Consolidated Election ending, the Village of Prairie Grove has two (2) open Trustee seats with terms ending at the next Consolidated Election in 2021.  If you would like to serve your community in this very important way, please send Village Clerk, Kim Minor an email at kminor@prairiegrove.org along with your resume and letter of interest by April 15, 2019.  We would ask that you come to the next Village Board Meeting on April 17, 2019 at 7:00 PM.

Any resident interested should be available on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM for Village Board Meetings.  Candidates must be 18 years of age and a resident of Prairie Grove for at least one year.

St. Patrick’s Day Click it or Ticket Campaign

The Prarie Grove Police Department will conduct special patrols on St. Patrick’s Day, March 14-18, 2019 to arrest impaired drivers and to encourage the use of seat belts.  The St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign is part of the Illinois “Drive sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click it or Ticket” programs supported through federal funds administered by IDOT.
